Styling with Sustainability in Mind
Sustainability is central to my styling business. I believe fashion should never come at the expense of the environment or fair labour practices. That is why I work exclusively with thrifted pieces and carefully sourced items from Canadian brands committed to ethical and environmentally responsible production. Thrifting allows me to give pre-loved garments a new life, reducing waste and lowering the demand for resource-intensive new clothing. By reusing these pieces, I help keep textiles out of landfills and promote a circular approach to fashion.
When new items are necessary, I focus on choosing staple pieces made from high-quality fabrics that are built to last. Natural fibers such as organic cotton, linen, wool, and silk not only feel better on the skin but also wear well over time, reducing the need for frequent replacement. I avoid fast fashion’s trend-driven throwaway culture by prioritizing timeless designs that can be styled in many ways and worn season after season.
I work closely with Canadian brands that value craftsmanship and use sustainable materials along with ethical labour practices. Supporting local makers strengthens our economy and reduces environmental impact from shipping and mass production overseas.
Every piece I select is chosen with care to reflect my commitment to environmental stewardship and social responsibility. Whether styling an individual or a photoshoot, I focus on creating looks that are stylish, thoughtful, and lasting. I encourage clients to embrace slow fashion by investing in quality staples rather than fleeting trends and to consider the story and sustainability behind each garment they wear.
My work goes beyond assembling outfits. It aims to raise awareness about how fashion choices affect the planet and inspire more sustainable habits. In an industry often marked by waste and overconsumption, I am proud to build a styling practice that supports a greener, fairer future — one carefully curated, lasting wardrobe at a time.
Careful attention to the condition and quality of every item is a key part of my process. Before any piece reaches a client, I ensure:
-
No stains or marks that can’t be removed.
-
No holes, tears, or excessive wear.
-
Items are thoroughly washed or dry-cleaned.
-
Careful selection to maintain high standards of quality and longevity.
